About us

The Paraguay Arbitration and Mediation Center (CAMP), dependent on the National Chamber of Commerce and Services of Paraguay (CNCSP), is a private non-profit entity, established to promote in an institutionalized way the application of Alternative Dispute Resolution Methods in society, whose advantages lie in its speed, confidentiality, informality, flexibility, economy and specialty

Currently, CAMP is the national section of the Inter-American Commercial Arbitration Commission (CIAC) and a member of the Mediation Secretariat of the MERCOSUR Council of Chambers of Commerce.

Its scope of work is developed in Mediation, Arbitration, Training and Advisory services.

CAMP is a pioneer in Conflict Resolution in the country, it has a body of professional arbitrators made up of 74 prestigious professionals with a long history in the exercise of the profession and a body of mediators made up of 41 professionals from different areas, trained in the matter

It also has the Ethics and Certification Committee, made up of prestigious and renowned professionals who are in charge of evaluating and accepting arbitrators and mediators to the lists, and advising the Board of Directors.

Throughout its trajectory the CAMP has given training seminars workshops in Refereeing; general conferences on Arbitration and Mediation; seminars, training workshops, observation and specialization internships in Mediation and symposia on Arbitration.

We are a private non-profit institution with national and international recognition, firmly established in the national business community due to its high level of professionalization, the high quality of the services it provides and the advanced physical and technological infrastructure with which it works.
The Center is the most important reference in matters of Arbitration and Mediation in Paraguay. The Center intends to achieve a similar position at the regional level by becoming the Center for International Arbitration and Mediation, which provides training, advice and Mediation and Arbitration services.

Background

The Paraguay Arbitration and Mediation Center originated in the context of the Commercial Arbitration Project, an integral part of Sub-Program “A” Reforms to the Regulatory Framework for Investments, component of the “Sectorial Investment Program Support Program”, administered by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and financed by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), with the objective of creating the appropriate conditions to promote the development of foreign investment in the Republic of Paraguay.

On February 12, 1996, a collaboration agreement was signed between the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the National Chamber of Commerce and Services of Paraguay with the aim of installing and operating an Arbitration and Mediation Center.

During the execution of the Commercial Arbitration Project, the Paraguay Arbitration and Mediation Center was established as an organism of the National Chamber of Commerce and Services of Paraguay, by means of the modification of its bylaws approved in the Extraordinary General Assembly of Partners held in dated October 24, 1996, constant act in public deed No. 235, authorized by the Notary Public Marina Galeano Suarez, registered under No. 224 and folio 2179 et seq. in the Legal Persons and Associations Section of the General Directorate of the Public Records, dated March 21, 1997.

Since 1998, the Center provides Arbitration and Mediation Services, Consulting, Training and Dissemination of Conflict Resolution Media to the community.


National and International Cooperation


The Center has received financial support from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), to work directly with chambers and trade unions, companies, both national and international to carry out the tasks. Through 2 projects, one for its creation and another for its institutional strengthening.
